Cactus Joe the Clown

Once upon a time there was a fairly normal guy. Then a Big, Unholy Group called the Ortex Corporation locked the guy up, along with a bunch of other guys, and began Experimenting on them. Alotta the guys died from these horrible experiments, but not our guy. He turned into a Monstrous, Violent Clown Creature and escaped from Ortex's Secret Lab. Dubbing himself Cactus Joe the Clown, our guy went on a Killing Spree, wreaking vengeance on the Ortex scientists who locked him away.

Epic battles were waged. Cactus Joe, armed with an indestructible body and a seemingly endless array of bizarrely violent abilities, stood alone against Ortex's army of High Tech Soldiers; Twisted, Genetically Engineered Freaks; and Abominable Demons from Hell. Through all of these attacks, Ortex continued to Pursue the Clown, continuously upping the ante. Locke City, IL, a sprawling Metropolis that serves as Ortex's Central Headquarters, became a Surreal Battleground.

And then Cactus Joe got bored. Through all the madness and misery, the Clown had made a number of friends, most notably Pengy Penguin. Perhaps because he was tired of risking his Little Buddy's life, Joe decided to leave Locke City for the relative quiet of Mud Village. Unfortunately, two days after Joe moved into his new place in Mud Village, Pengy showed up and moved in. Despite their new home, things have been almost as hectic as ever.

Cactus Joe is moody, unpredictable, and given to occasional fits of rage. Although he can be calm and meditative, his personality is just a little too "full tilt" for a prolonged state of peace. The Clown has a great sense of humor and loves cracking jokes and laughing. The Clown's body is continuously undergoing a state of excessive mutation which manifests itself both externally and internally. What Cactus Joe is becoming is unknown, and frankly he doesn't care. Joe accepts every new transformation with a surprising amount of calm, given his erratic moods.

In another case of irony, Cactus Joe has the ability to move and attack with a high degree of strength, speed, and skill, but he can only seem to utilize this physical prowess in rare "moments of zen." Otherwise, the Clown typically comes off as a clumsy, fumble fingered clutz who gets ripped to shreds every time he gets into a fight. Only through his incredible resilience, unusual physiology, and tendancy to hit, smash, rip, and slice things until they die has Cactus Joe survived this long. Joe's favorite weapons include Scythes, Meathooks, Knives, Cleavers, Blunt Objects Wrapped in Barbed Wire, and Chainsaws.

The Clown's favorite food is Tacos. He drinks Mt. Man Super Drink (now with more caffeine) like it's going out of style. His favorite movies are "Pulp Fiction", "Hellraiser III", and "Naked Lunch." His favorite TV series is "Twin Peaks." His all time favorite comics are "Watchmen", "The Filth," and "The Authority" (Warren Ellis or Marc Miller versions only). Joe loves Heavy Metal Music.

His turn ons include:
Women who don't run away from him in terror.
Um, that's about it.
