SDF: Honorless Dogs #1

Okay-Dokay. It was available at Urbana, Lexington, and SPACE, and now it's up on line as well. "SDF: Honorless Dogs" #1 is now available for sale online at www.torcpress.com/comicshop.html. Huzzah!

Here's the rundown:

It's my first SDF Mini-series. It's three issues long. It's got two stories and some back up strips per issue. Issue One features the first part of a three part Cactus Joe the Clown story. The Clown steps out for some ice cream and everything goes straight to hell while he's gone. In the second story, King Smooth seperately hires Lab Bunny and El Gorio and sends them to a dirthole town called No Redemption, where they promptly take jobs as hired muscle for the local gangs. This one is a must read for fans of "Yojimbo" or "A Fist Full of Dollars". As an added bonus there are back up strips featuring Me & Buzby, Liquid Jar, and Broken Tea Cup.

Plus, in addition, as well, the Year Long 10 Year Birthday of Cactus Joe the Clown is in effect until September, so any and all orders will recieve free crap with their order. It's the start of what I'm hoping will be a great mini-series, and you get free nick-nacks. How can you go wrong?

Splash Down

Alrighty!

We're back from SPACE. I'm tired, confused, and only a few minutes away from having to go back to work, but at the same time I'm pretty happy about how things went this weekend. I always love SPACE, and again I'd like to thank Bob Corby for organizing the show. I'd also like to thank everyone that swung by the TORC Press table, whether you bought something or not, your support is appreciated.

Not much time this morning. Stuff to do: Resume work on SDF. Resume work on my other side projects. Mow the lawn. Clean the house. Read my huge stack of Comics I got at SPACE and write up reviews here on the blog. Unpack. Unload the car. Pay a half dozen bills I forgot to pay this weekend. All while working in the sawmill all week.

Anyone wanna swap lives?

Getting Ready for SPACE

Tomorrow Fitchy and I leave for SPACE. Not much to report on in that department. I'll be at the Con both days, although I may leave early on Sunday if things are going slow. If you're in the greater Ohioland area, come out to the show. SPACE is a great convention devoted to people who make comics cause they LOVE comics. If you spend some time looking I Guarantee you'll find something you dig. Anyway, details are up over at www.backporchcomics.com/space.htm. I think I'm at Table 84, near the Admissions table, so swing by and say hi while you're at it.

Back, but Only for a Bit

Right.

I'm back from Kentucky. Had a good time, made some scratch, met some cool people, and kinda got my allergies back in control just in time to go back to work at the sawmill. Huzzah! Anyway, if you're one of the folks gracious enough to have bought something off me, and you dug it, make sure to check out the rest of the sight, most notable www.torcpress.com/comicshop.html. Regardless, thanks for supporting TORC Press.

This week I've got SPACE in Columbus, OH on April 21-22. Should be fun.

Con Time

I'm going to be exhibiting my work at a Comic Book Convention on Saturday, April 14th at the Four Points Sheraton in Lexington, KY from 10am till 3:30pm. Should be fun. If there's any TORC Press fans out in the greater Kentucky-wide area (insert laughter here) make sure to stop by and say hi.

My Ultimate Dream Card

So anyway, Boolah challenged us the other day to come up with our Ultimate Dream Pro Wrestling Card. I can't remember the exact rules (I've slept since then), but I do remember you could use any wrestler from any era in any match. I'm lazy, so a lot of the wrestlers on this list are modern wrestlers, although if I do use someone from an earlier time, then I'll denote it with a (Circa 19XX). Also, some of these matches aren't that unique, and have been done in various promotions. Still, it's my super card, so I can do what I want. Also, if you're not a wrestling fan (then why are you reading this post) or if you are a fan, but all you watch is the WWE or TNA, some of these names won't be very familiar. I recommend checking out Wikipedia or www.rohwrestling.com, www.chikarapro.com, or www.czwrestling.com. Here we go:

Opening Match: Colt Cabana vs. Nigel McGuiness. These guys fueded in ROH for most of 2005, and pretty much put on a Technical clinic. Fun match, great warm up with strong wrestling before all the brutality and crazy high flying starts.

Mikey Whipwreck (cica 1998) vs. Jerry Lynn (circa 1998). Two of my ECW favorites. Again, these two feuded back in ECW for a little while and put on a series of killer matches. Another strong technical match with a great pace.

CHIKARA Rules Trios Match: Mike Quackenbush, Shane Storm, and Jigsaw vs. Hallowicked, Gran Akuma, and Larry Sweeny. High flying craziness from the CHIKARA Indy promotion. If you've never seen Mike Quackenbush wrestle, then you're missing out. He's freaking awesome. Jigsaw provides dynamic high flying and Storm is solid on the mat. On the other team, Hallowicked provides big air, Gran Akuma kicks people really hard, and Larry Sweeny struts around like he owns the place. A possible show stealer.

Anything Goes Street Fight: Homicide vs. Necro Butcher. Another match that's already happened (at ROH's Ring of Homicide event). It was awesome and totally freaking brutal, so it goes on my ultra show.

60 Minute Iron Man 4 Way Dance: CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels. The best hour ever. Nuff said.

Three Way Tag Team Dance: The Briscoe Bros. (Jay and Mark Briscoe) vs. Generation Next (Austin Aires and Roderick Strong) vs. the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castaglioli). These were the three best tag teams in Pro Wrestling in 2006. I slapped them all together in one match.

Main Event: No Rope Barb Wire, Exploding Barb Wire Board Death Match- Cactus Jack (circa 1996) vs. Tommy Dreamer (circa 1998). Jack and Dreamer did wrestle against each other some in ECW, and they were part of the main event of the second WWE sponsered ECW event, but they never had a truly epic singles encounter. Two of my favorite wrestlers of all time, when they were in their prime, ripping each other apart in an exact replica of the infamous Japanese King of the Death Match Final. That make me happy.
