My Ultimate Dream Card
So anyway, Boolah challenged us the other day to come up with our Ultimate Dream Pro Wrestling Card. I can't remember the exact rules (I've slept since then), but I do remember you could use any wrestler from any era in any match. I'm lazy, so a lot of the wrestlers on this list are modern wrestlers, although if I do use someone from an earlier time, then I'll denote it with a (Circa 19XX). Also, some of these matches aren't that unique, and have been done in various promotions. Still, it's my super card, so I can do what I want. Also, if you're not a wrestling fan (then why are you reading this post) or if you are a fan, but all you watch is the WWE or TNA, some of these names won't be very familiar. I recommend checking out Wikipedia or www.rohwrestling.com, www.chikarapro.com, or www.czwrestling.com. Here we go:
Opening Match: Colt Cabana vs. Nigel McGuiness. These guys fueded in ROH for most of 2005, and pretty much put on a Technical clinic. Fun match, great warm up with strong wrestling before all the brutality and crazy high flying starts.
Mikey Whipwreck (cica 1998) vs. Jerry Lynn (circa 1998). Two of my ECW favorites. Again, these two feuded back in ECW for a little while and put on a series of killer matches. Another strong technical match with a great pace.
CHIKARA Rules Trios Match: Mike Quackenbush, Shane Storm, and Jigsaw vs. Hallowicked, Gran Akuma, and Larry Sweeny. High flying craziness from the CHIKARA Indy promotion. If you've never seen Mike Quackenbush wrestle, then you're missing out. He's freaking awesome. Jigsaw provides dynamic high flying and Storm is solid on the mat. On the other team, Hallowicked provides big air, Gran Akuma kicks people really hard, and Larry Sweeny struts around like he owns the place. A possible show stealer.
Anything Goes Street Fight: Homicide vs. Necro Butcher. Another match that's already happened (at ROH's Ring of Homicide event). It was awesome and totally freaking brutal, so it goes on my ultra show.
60 Minute Iron Man 4 Way Dance: CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels. The best hour ever. Nuff said.
Three Way Tag Team Dance: The Briscoe Bros. (Jay and Mark Briscoe) vs. Generation Next (Austin Aires and Roderick Strong) vs. the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castaglioli). These were the three best tag teams in Pro Wrestling in 2006. I slapped them all together in one match.
Main Event: No Rope Barb Wire, Exploding Barb Wire Board Death Match- Cactus Jack (circa 1996) vs. Tommy Dreamer (circa 1998). Jack and Dreamer did wrestle against each other some in ECW, and they were part of the main event of the second WWE sponsered ECW event, but they never had a truly epic singles encounter. Two of my favorite wrestlers of all time, when they were in their prime, ripping each other apart in an exact replica of the infamous Japanese King of the Death Match Final. That make me happy.
