It's Almost Ten Degrees Outside.
I'm going to stay positive. I'm not going to think about how it rained all day yesterday and how the rain slowly turned to snow as the thermometer continued to shrink. I'm not going to think about the long day ahead of me in the high winds and the freezing cold. Stay positive.
I'm starting to reestablish a rhythm on "SDF: Perfect/Ugly". I now only have eight pages and the covers to do (unlike certain publishers, we here at TORC Press always save our cover art for last, mostly because we have no idea what's going into each issue anyway). Plus, I've got a page penciled, border inked, and lettered, so that's another almost done. Progress is a good thing.
I'm probably going to watch "House of Flying Daggers" this weekend. Can't get enough Kung Fu action.
Jeez it's cold.

Yeah, HoFD is finally at a theater I don't have to drive 20 miles for and fight Uptown hippie parking to watch. Previously it was at the "Blue Lagoon". Now, I've got nothing against this theater (and I hate to make 20 miles seem long considering the lengths you guys have to travel in Bumpetyville), but the neighborhood it's in generall pisses me off.
It's near Lake St, which is prostitute central. At an MW tourney on Lake St once, a nutbar whipped into the game store, threw a handful of change at us and said "Here's $1.98 from the Indian restaurant! NOW go buy a toothbrush, you Nazis!" Crazy.
However, ignoring that edge of the hood it shares, Uptown is the yuppy hippie area of Minneapolis. Blue Lagoon regularly gets the "inteletctual" indy films. The bars tend to have jazz and bluegrass festivals. Completely out of place is Saint Sabrina's....a goth and domintarix store. The entire neighborhood is one big poser act. And apartments that we'd pay $250 a month for in southern Illinois run into the 1200-2000 a month range in that area. A pox on Uptown.
But now my lazy ass can drive just 7 miles. Prolly catch that on Tuesday, since I'd rather not postpone the hopeful end of our present D&D mission any longer than necessary.
